Ivy Lakes is a fictional golf course that would probably be

located within the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The

terrain consists of many steep transitions and tons of trees

and water. The course is also accented by many very

challenging sand-traps. Although the course is fictional,

many of the holes are in existence on various courses in

central Virginia. I have taken these holes and fit them in

as close as possible to a course layout that will give you a

challenge as well as a pleasant view. Many of the shots on

the course will require you to think well ahead. Good

planning is the key to Ivy Lakes. It is a good idea to study

the overhead view of each hole before you let it rip. There

are many shots that are better off left a bit shorter off

the tees. Also there are many sand-traps that can't be seen

from the tee box.

I would like to take a moment to thank Gordon Chisholm for

his advise on this course. Gordon is probably the foremost

authority on Jack Nicklaus Golf. He is also a good friend.

If anyone ever has a question on course design I would

direct them to Gordon as he hold a wealth of information and

is always glad to share it. Gordon Thank You!!!

The background for this course is a combination of a

borrowed background and an original design. The tree line is

borrowed for Ted Maiden's Glenn Abbey. I took the tree line

and repainted it to match the color scheme of Ivy Lakes.

Next I created a skyline. Also adding a few scattered clouds

for character. Most of the objects for this course are

borrowed from other courses. I have added a few changes to

them to make them fit the course. Because of the fact that

course objects seem to travel around from course to course,

I don't know the exact course designer to thank for his or

her work. Therefore I would like to thank all course

designers that take the time to design custom objects. These

things take a lot of time and hard work and these people

deserve a lot of credit.

Thank you for giving Ivy Lakes a try. I hope you enjoy your

rounds. I always welcome comments and suggestions from

anyone. I can be reached on AOL as ChrisA7223. or by mail:
