Sound Manager 1.0 Notes & Registration
   ----------------------------------------------------

Sound Manager is NOT freeware. It is shareware and
copyright 1993 by Derek Backus and Todd Henschell. It
is not guaranteed to do anything other than use up
your disk space, and we're not liable for anything else
it does. By evaluating it, you agree to this.

Now that the legal junk is out of the way...

Sound Manager is a handy tool for those who have lots of
sound files and no real easy way to sort through them,
copy them, and otherwise gain control of them. Some
applications can play them, others can copy them here
and there, but to our knowledge, only Sound Manager will
let you play them and then decide what to do with the file
once you've heard it.

It's great for quickly looking through large collections,
deciding which sound files to weed from your system (they
eat space like Godzilla ate Tokyo) and for just generally
getting a grip on these pesky space-wasters.

Sound Manager is only $5. There are no docs, no help
files, and no pester screens. It's easy to figure out
and simple to operate. By now everybody knows what
a file management dialogue looks like, and that's all
you need to know to use Sound Manager. We're not
gonna tell you anything else. Just try it and see
what you think.

A Few Tips:

You can highlight as many sound files as
you want, but only the LAST file you clicked on will
play. COPY/DELETE/MOVE will work on ALL HIGHLIGHTED
files! To play a file double-click it or click it
once and click PLAY. To unhilite it, just click it
again and the highlight is off.

You can also click once in the file list box, then
hit the spacebar to "unhilight" the file -- whereupon
from then on, simply pressing Enter while the highlight
box is around a file name will play it. It's easy to
zip through a huge directory this way and quickly sample
files.

You can interrupt a file if you want by playing another,
no reason to wait if you don't want to hear it, Windows
(and Sound Manager) doesn't care.

Nothing fancy is happening here, and those are the
only "tricky" points of the program.

Simple is the goal we had in mind with this one.

There is an About box, and if you press "I" while
it's open you'll see the credits, if such things
interest you.

Please register this product if you intend to use it.

You are free to evaluate it for thirty days, after which
we expect you to fork over five measly bucks. If you
don't pay, well, then may 60hz line noise corrupt all
those WAV files you have on your disk.

Sound Manager was conceived by Todd Henschell and created
by Derek Backus. The teensy bit of graphics used in the
program were conceived and created by Todd Henschell.

Make your check or money order out to Derek Backus. Mail
the completed form to the U.S. address listed below. No
VISA registration or any of that nonsense. It's just
five bucks.

Have fun with Sound Manager, that's why we created it.
Depending on the support we get, we may or may not
release future versions with more features (like
conversions from VOC, SND, etc. and with waveform
screens and all that sort of nonsense).
