POLICE, COMMUNITY, AND PARENTS OF MISSING DAUGHTER
                       SEEK HELP FROM THE COMMUNITY

                            California

The Fort Bragg Police, the Mendocino/Fort Bragg community, and the
parents of Kristi Krebs are seeking information from anyone who
was traveling in Northern California, and especially in Mendocino
County, during the week following August 9, 1993.

Did anyone see or give a ride to a female hitchhiker with "large
hips" wearing flourescent pink spandex shorts, on August 10 or 11,
or during the following week and beyond, on Highway 20, Highway 1,
or any other Highway in California, and possibly ouside of
California? Kristi could be anywhere, and with anyone.

Kristi Krebs has been missing from Fort Bragg, California since
she left her job at Round Table Pizza on August 9, 1993 at
10:00PM. Her disabled and abandoned car was located in the
Mendocino Woodlands Camp area about seven miles inland from the
town of Mendocino. Kristi suffered an apparenet relapse of a
psychotic break, which whe experienced in May of 1990. At that
time, Kristi was hospitalized and didn't know who she was, or who
anyone was, for over a month.

In both episodes, she drove her car out into a remote area in the
woods, where it became stuck and disabled. In the 1990 incident,
her car had an engine fire and was totally destroyed. Kristi was
found the following morning, by a railroad crew. She was walking
the California Western Railroad tracks, which run between Fort
Bragg and Willits, and was about thirteen miles inland from Fort
Bragg. She appeared disoriented and was displaying psychotic
    behavior.

After some months, she recovered from this mental breakdown, and
seemed to be doing well for almost three years. She had been
advised to avaoid stressful situations whenever possible.

In AUgust, 1993, Kristi was working two part-time jobs, one a
Round Table Pizza, and a morning job at Burger King. She
sometimes worked eleven hours a day. She worked out at the local
Health Club in the morning, and even between jobs, and also began
dieting. All this apparently took a toll on Kristi's physical and
mental health. "We noticed a difference in her behavior and
became extremely concerned. Kristi became very "hyper" and
exhilerated, requiring little sleep. We een sat her down and
talked to her about it, but she assured us that she was "just
happy", according to her parents, Bob and Susan Krebs.

The night of August 9th, Kristi left her job at Round Table at
10:00 p.m. She told co-workers she was going straight home, but
instead drove around town. She drove her car out to MacKerricher
State Park, north of Fort Bragg. A park ranger spoke to her that
night. Afterwards, she drove her car south of Fort Bragg out to
the Mendocino Woodlands Camp area where her red Toyota Tercel
became stuck in a shallow creekbed.

On August 11, 1993, during an extensive four and a half day search
in the Mendocino Woodlands by the Mendocino County Search and
Rescue Team, a sighting of a female hitchhiker on Highway 1 and
Highway 20 was reported. This woman appeared disoriented, and was
wearing flourescent pink spandex shorts, a white T-shirt with a
large circular design on the front. A photograph of Kristi was
later positively identified by the father and son, who had seen
this woman three different times between 10:00am and noon. In the
last sighting, she was hitchhiking east on Highway 20 out of Fort
    Bragg, and heaing toward Willits.

Since Kriti's fourescent pink spandex shorts were missing from her
room, along with her shirt with the circular design on the front,
Kristi's parents felt certain this was their daughter. The
description of a female having "lareg hips" definitely fit her.

At this point, judging from the 1990 breakdown, Kristi would have
been "pretty much out of it", according to her parents. "we feel
our daughter is out there and doesn't know who she it. With the
help of the public, we hope to get her back."

There were many people who were visiting the Northern California
Coast, and leaving the area at this time, who may have seen her on
the raod. It would have been difficult NOT to notice her with
those bright pink spandex and her "pretty good size" hips.

Anyone leaving the Mendocino/Fort Bragg area any time from August
10th or 11th on, could have seen Kristi.

Was she alone, or with somebody?

"Kristi is a very friendly, outgoing girl, and would probably
latch on to the first person she came in contact with. Whe has
remarkable inner strength and is most definitely a survivor."

Any information, even if it seems insignificant, could be the
    piece that helps find Kristi.

Kristi is 5'2", 135-140 lbs., with light brown hair, and blue
eyes. Her hair would be below shoulder length by now, and may be
in a pony tail. Kristi also has a deformed right thumb, wich is
thick at the knuckle and the tip curves inward. She speaks with a
slight slur. Her birthdate is 12-29-70, wich would maker her
twenty-three now, but she appears much younger.

The Mendocino/Fort Bragg community has raised $20,000 to be
offered as a reward to anyone giving information which leads to
the safe return of Kriti Krebs to her family. This is being
offered through the "We Tip" secret witness fund. The caller may
    remain anonymous.
