General Windows tips for Quicken users.

1. Always use the latest video and printer drivers for your hardware.
This is especially true if you have an accelerated video card. Many
manufactors update their video frequently, in fact, sometimes monthly.
Many times it takes several months for all the kinks to be worked out.

2. Learn the keyboard subsitutes for moving Windows around. Sometime
you might find yourself in a spot where you can not get your mouse to
the spot necessary to resize or move the Window.

3. If you are a QuickPay or QuickInvoice user do not use quotation
marks in your category names, employee names and address, item codes, or
customer address. Some symbols, especially quotation marks, are used as
part of DDE communication. When they are used in the above circumstance
the will cause the failure of information to be transferred into
Quicken.

4. If you have a 2 meg machine do yourself a favor and upgrade to four
megs. If you use Windows alot you might want to consider 8mbs as a good
choice.

5. If you are currently using a 14 inch monitor and you spend a great
deal of time in front of it you might want to consider upgrading to a
17inch monitor. I use a 14inch at work and a 17inch at home and you
would not believe the difference. It is like night and day.

6. Try to avoid bright colors. If you stare at high intensitiy colors
for any lengh it will cause eye strain.

7. Avoid using a background bitmap. The use of ram and resources can
greatly slow down a system, especially if you have only 4mbs or ram.
