To apply this patch, you will need version 2.0 of PATCH.EXE.

It is available as TPB-PTCH.ZIP from The Parole Board BBS
                              ------------
=======================================================================
NOTE: There is *NO* guarantee that the 286 or 386 version of CatList
will operate on your system. If the regular version is operating and
the enhanced versions fail to operate, common sense should tell you to
go back to the original. There is *NO* difference in the internal
workings of CatList other than the fact that when compiled, the EXE was
optimized to work on a particular CPU.

=======================================================================

This archive contains the PATCH file necessary to upgrade your
regular CATLIST.EXE to either the CATLIST + (286) or the CATLIST ++
(386) version. These versions will *ONLY* operate with a valid
registration number. I provide these files as a benefit to those that
register CatList. These special compiled versions contain code that
will only work with their respective CPUs.

CLIST286.RTP -> Will only operate on a 80286 or higher CPU
CLIST386.RTP -> Will only operate on a 80386 or higher CPU

To apply the patch, you will need 1 of the patches listed above
*PLUS* the current release of CatList which goes with this release.
This patch file will only update a specific release. For instance, if
you have CatList v2.0, and this patch is for CatList v2.1, the patch
will not work. The safest bet is to download CATLIST.ZIP and the patch
file from The Parole Board BBS at the same time. You should also check
the date & time of the files in each archive to make sure they are the
same. If they are the same, the patch should work. You will also need
a copy of PATCH.EXE which may be downloaded from The Parole Board BBs
under the name of TPB-PTCH.ZIP or use the PATCH.EXE that comes with MSIs
updates. Either will work.

clist286.rtp 65475 4-06-93 2:54a <-Patch file

catlist.exe 265584 4-06-93 2:54a <-Original file
                        ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

If these are the same, they are from the same release.

     PATCH.EXE will also create a \BACKUP sub-directory which contains
the original file(s). You can just cope the old ones back into the
original directory to reverse the patch process.

To apply the patch, you will need to unZIP CATLIST.ZIP and
CLISTxxx.ZIP into a work directory. Then, type "PATCH CLISTxxx" from
the dos prompt. The "xxx" is the version of the patch that you wish to
apply.
